If we have the Scientific Understanding of the Psyche and of God then the public has the civil right of receiving this information as emotional and moral literacy, as enlightenment. This information helps people to find meaningful psychological insights in themselves and behavior and also for establishing the scientific basis of moral values thus averting the escalation of religious and sectarian wars.


Computers communicate but people do not. This is a question of reasoning method.

The collapse of the World Trade Center has been the contemporary Tower of Babel reflecting the lack of consensus on moral values, the lack of a meaningful language for all. Religious beliefs are at an impasse. They do not understand and communicate with each other. While progress in technology has united the world, our computers communicate, belief systems are impeding communication and increasing conflicts in the world and in our personal lives.

The culprit for this problem is the concrete or descriptive understanding of morality trusting faith or dogma and not reason. Dogma, uncritical faith, concrete thinking is arbitrary self righteous and immoral. It is unacceptable as it is distorting the universal truths in the name of God. To evolve a common language we need science in the realms of behavior and faith. This is what the Formal Theory of Behavior has accomplished and now behavior has become the Moral Science providing us the language of science for people to understand behavior, themselves and religion.

A manifesto is a declaration of facts and consequences, social activism. The Formal Manifesto is based on Formal Theory’s scientific discovery of the unit of the social sciences transforming behavior into an exact science, the Moral Science freeing the world from dogmatic or arbitrary thinking, entailing the possibility for the people of the world to communicate clearly. Our declaration is based on the consequence of having this new knowledge and its implication, the need for social activism in examining, implementing and spreading this information.

The Discovery of the Conflict Resolution Process, the Scientific Moral Paradigm also known as the Teleion Holon provides the language for all people and cultures to communicate. The foundation for this knowledge is introducing in behavior the unit of the social sciences, the conflict resolution process; it is not based on arbitrary thinking but on the relational systemic reasoning. As the unit of the science it integrates a lot of information. The unit is the scientific language of logic and physics, it is new diagnostic categories based on the syndromal understanding of the mind, it is the universal harmonic uniting parts into totalities for the correct assessment of behavior, it is the moral order determined by the unconscious demystifying religion and psychology revealing that science is Gnostic and religions are partial truths.

My research started by recognizing periodicity, patterns that repeat, and by identifying the dialectic and formal structure of patterns. I arrived at the conclusion that the pattern was the unit moral order. The unit is the human unconscious adaptational response to conflict; the mind reaches automatically a resolution and then it rests. This mental dialectic, a six step three formal operations process, is predictably structuring associations and by examining the thought process we can identify this order. We know this structure as the plot of stories, and also that stories have a moral conclusion. Now we can view the creative or conflict resolution process, the mental moral response to stress as the origin of all moral thought and study it as the foundation of the Moral Science. I identified this entity as the Teleion Holon, the perfect universe of thoughts, the dramatic process as advanced by Aristotle in his study of the plot of Greek tragedies. This structure of thought, the conflict resolution mechanism, the universal harmonic, became the unit natural science moral order entity of the social sciences and the scientific moral paradigm, the mental heartbeat and the compass to puzzling humankind’s wisdom.

We can retrace humanity’s evolution of belief systems as a series of moral discoveries on the nature of this process. Religions have promoted a series of covenants resolving conflict restructuring family relations, and they have also described the attributes of the process as those of supreme divine authorities. The new concept demystifies psychology and religion by resolving conflict as an abstract calculus of power management and by attributing moral order to the spontaneous unconscious unit mechanism.

The discovery of this order may be readily tested and validated by analyzing all samples of creativity confirming the formal structure of thought. Validating the premise of the conflict resolution process gives behavior a unit entity and transforms it into the exact natural Moral Science.

The Formal Theory is reframing the debate of evolution versus creationism and intelligent design; the biblical story is correct as a metaphor of the unit process. It is describing the creation not of the cosmic universe but of the symbolic universe as a moral unit entity. The conflict resolution process is a six role state formal transformation; it upgrades energy, resolves a conflict and then the creator upon completion of his her creation may rest. The study of morality reverts to the evolution of moral stories, from focusing on the content of stories to identifying the formal organization of ideas in all stories. Genesis is the most accurate presentation of the moral process in descriptive dialectic terms. Descriptive thinking is almost capturing abstract relational thought. The Bible captured the process as the six days of the week. These could be readily translated formally to the six role states: stress, response, anxiety, defense, reversal and compromise; the day of rest could still be called Sabbath.

The object for the study of psychology and morality becomes the energetic and formal relation between ideas in the system of a story. This order is manifested in all samples of creativity. Civilizations progressed evolving model stories suggesting ever new ways of restructuring relations and resolving conflict; these stories are metaphors. Civilization evolved through improved metaphors, but now we are able to interpret all metaphors utilizing abstract thinking detecting the truth in the structure of the stories, the plot of stories as the syndromal connection of choices and consequences abstracted as pure formulas. The individual understanding the syndromal nature of behavior may make the correct choices and learn to manage power wisely.

The interpretation of our concrete beliefs, our metaphors reveals the dimensions of how our religions resolve conflict. Religions then as particular conflict resolutions are subsumed to the Science of Conflict Resolution. Science shifts the source of wisdom from the traditional metaphors as the content of stories that divide people to the universal process, the plot of all stories that could unite people. Science then transforms believers into partners that can look at factual information and agree on the exact nature of conflict resolution and its origination in the human thought process.

Science no longer disputes the fact of moral order. Science confirms its existence and makes it a measurable entity. Religions have particular dimensions. The Moral Science is unifying psychology and morality by understanding the thought process as reason coinciding with moral order. This Science then provides the language that everybody can speak. The individuals and cultures can benefit; the world can evolve to respect the same values, evolve personal and cultural insights and achieve moral consensus. This may begin in democracies where reason and communications prevail over tradition and then spread into the world of theocracies that are rigidly relying on traditions.

The Formal Manifesto declares the need for Emotional and Moral Literacy

This relational conceptual development and its range of applications entails the obligation to inform the public of their civil right to think clearly and outside the traditional box of concrete or propositional thinking. The conceptual evolution entails the need of a social revolution, social activism, the need for advocacy promoting Emotional and Moral Literacy for the enlightenment of the public, for the emancipation of the masses from the tyranny of dogmatic thinking. The consequence of the discovery of moral reason is entailing a revolution, the activist delivery of emotional and moral literacy.

Prometheus stole the fire from the Gods and brought it to the humans; the gods of fire then became less powerful and less threatening while mortals became empowered and wiser. By clarifying the redefined mental and moral order we are empowering the public at the expense to the hegemony of religions. Yet the process in no way is antagonistic to religions as the end product is the scientific understanding of the psyche and of God. Science does not fire God; it simply redefines him as the human unconscious, the inner voice which we should learn to hear clearly and respect as the holistic concept of moral authority.

The new literacy must educate the leaders and the public on the relational conceptualization of behavior providing the scientific understanding of the thought process as the universal harmonic, as an orderly unit moral entity, the conflict resolution mechanism. The public needs to know all about the new diagnostic categories, and the new technology for self discovery informing the person on his/hers relational diagnosis as a relational modality, and his/her relational needs, moral values as the deliberate pursuit of the principals of conflict resolution. Clergy must adapt traditional beliefs to the new scientific moral order explaining the origin of moral orders as stemming from the unconscious. Piety could be shifted to serf esteem and self respect.

The social implication of this discovery then is the need to impart an emotional and moral education in the classroom, in the academia, in the spiritual places and also in the press. The public has the right to be informed that the old explanations have been partial views of the truth, misleading the public and that science can be trusted in introducing the broader truth as the abstract understanding of the mental process, the ethical calculus of power management. The public has the right to know the nature of the abstract relational reality as the total truth ahead of the partial, concrete, axiomatic, or dogmatically established truths. The social institutions must educate the public in this new and universal language and this is particularly pertinent to our times as beliefs and stories are distorting the truth, generating conflicts and impeding progress by promoting the politization of partial truths at the expense of the universal truth and the endangerment of peace and of humanity in our very disturbed planet. The world can evolve from being agnostic and alternatively religious to becoming uniformly Gnostic and cognizant of the universal harmonic.

The War on Terror will be won and other world wide conflicts based on religious differences will be solved provided the people in the world agree on communicating along the science based system of values. This order reconciles the religions of the world as the evolution of awareness of the process, as moral discoveries evolving as institutions of conflict resolution; cultures evolved historically explaining how to resolve conflict. Science now introduces the explanation of the underlying universal harmonic as the unifying truth. The Science of Conflict Resolution, the Moral Science completes the task of religions by simply understanding the innate formal relations resolving conflict as the new explanation of moral thought. Moral consensus reverts to deliberately espousing the principals of conflict resolution.

Social Activism at Teleion Holon
At the Teleion Holon Holistic Retreat we are addressing rethinking the social sciences departing from establishing the integrative authority of the scientific moral paradigm as the unit process of the social sciences and proceeding to the study of each discipline.

The formal premise:
The object for the scientific study of behavior is the creative process, the reflection of the unconscious in the formal organization of thoughts in all samples of creativity as a conflict resolution mechanism or continuum. This entity is a concise energetic and formal transformational phenomenon, the heartbeat of the mind, consisting of a six-step energetic and three formal operations transformation.

The unit conflict resolution process starts with a state of conflict characterized as a state of passivity, antagonism and alienation in formal relation with the end state described as mastery, cooperation and mutual respect. The same process starts energetically as chaos and ends with order as increased negative entropy coinciding with a sense of adjustment and permanence, a positive attitude.

As an equilibrial energetic entity this phenomenon abides by the laws of the Simple Harmonic Motion and as a formal transformation it abides by the Kleinian set of four formal transformations. Both the energetic and the formal models describe the differences between the mind and machine. The mind evolves one directionally to resolution, the state of rest, a one directional equilibrial state. Determinism is determined by the unconscious.

The importance of this unit entity is that it reconciles the rigorous and the social sciences into a continuum, that this language becomes the integrative paradigm for all the social science disciplines reconciling them as the complementary aspects of study of the process. The unit order is reconciling the humanities, psychology and religions, by ascribing the origin of all moral order to the human unconscious seeking conflict resolution as its automatic response to stress.

The task of the conference:
The implication of this discovery is that we have the science based language to develop objectivity in the realm of subjectivity, the realm of psychology and religions. The consequence of this discovery is research on the new language, evolving the software of the mind by validating the ten formulas of the Formal Analysis Profile, constructs and formulas from the rigorous sciences, reflecting the calculus of power management.


The Formal Premise as a Syndrome
The unit process is a qualifiable and quantifiable syndrome of emotions and behaviors and it is the basis for establishing relational modalities, alternative paths to conflict resolution as syndromal diagnostic categories. These allow us to identify and predict individual and cultural patterns of behaviors and emotions.

There are four relational modalities and each modality is occurring in normal populations; it has characteristic relational strengths and weaknesses, features marking its compatibility with other modalities and determining certain patterns of pathology.

Research Tasks
These diagnostic categories may be identified descriptively but also through psychological testing. The syndromes need to be studied and described accurately also clarified as to the ideal way of resolving conflicts.

Educational Tasks
The implication of this new knowledge is that the public needs to be informed about behavior and about their personal relational diagnosis. Individuals benefit from knowing their modalities in both explaining their responses and experiences and also in making them aware of potential pathology, strengths and skills to develop in managing relations or power. Students in the classroom may benefit to discover the particular syndromal order in their own thinking by sampling their creative process and by identifying in their metaphorical statements the personal pattern of conflict resolution as a simple and meaningful predictive diagnosis.

Acquiring self knowledge, knowing about oneself changes the scope and capacity of education. It entails the need and feasibility of a moral and emotional education in the classroom. Creativity and Power Management is a course that informs the public in the formal interpretation of cultural and personal metaphors leading a person to identify how s/he resolves conflicts, to identify one’s relational modality and to develop the related relational skills.


The Premise is the Existence of a Measurable Entity
The unit entity has physical and relational variables that can be measured. The Conflict

Analysis Battery is a self assessment instrument that combines a relational inventory and projective techniques allowing quantifying and qualifying the personal relational modality as a symbolic system and arriving at identifying one’s relational modality, one’s pattern and the changes a person needs to make, the skills one needs to develop, in order to improve on one’s relational effectiveness.

The battery consists of an inventory and projective, metaphor generating techniques allowing the person to reconstruct the personal pattern as a drama revealing the personal conflicts and resolutions, increasing awareness of one’s pattern predictive of the person’s life time relations.

Educational Reform
Everybody must learn to speak this new language in the classroom, to develop skills in this language. One needs to become aware of the formal structure of the creative process by witnessing the process connecting the beginning and the end of all stories as the orderly and quantifiable structure of metaphorical thinking.

The program Creativity and Power Management is a model concise education combining three segments. The first is the cognitive study of art exhibits to identify the nature of the universal harmonic integrating the humanities and the sciences and studying the evolution of moral order. The second segment addresses completing the Conflict Analysis Battery to evolve personal awareness of one’s relational modality and symbolic system. The third segment is holistic and addresses evolving relational skills in coping with conflicts effectively. The program is a comprehensive and concise emotional education recommended for any group but in particular for the school age population to facilitate self awareness and to encourage personal growth.


The Formal Premise as the Scientific Moral Paradigm
The unit entity is the scientific moral paradigm as it reveals the relational principals resolving conflict as formal operations. These become the universal moral values: moderation, cooperation and mutual respect, conditions to resolving conflict.

The unit process reconciles the religions of the world as a continuum of moral discoveries, as a progression in conflict resolution, as progress in awareness of the underlying universal moral order, both by introducing moral discoveries as social covenants restructuring the domestic relations and as attributions of the moral authority to gradually more unified and abstract divinities. The Moral Science is completing the mission of religions by clearly understanding the abstract calculus of power management and by attributing to the unconscious.

Divinities have been redefined to become more abstract and more benevolent, i.e. the Indian pantheism may be seen evolving to the Greek Olympian dozen, itself reduced to the Abrahamic Monotheism and the subsequent prophetic religious philosophies as alternative models of conflict resolution.

The activist task: Reconciliation of Religions and Science
Moral order also accounts for the multiplicity of cultural relational resolutions and their formal interrelation. It is important that religions become self aware and accountable of their particular approaches to conflict resolution with their strengths and pitfalls. Each religion and its related culture reflects on the strengths and weaknesses of the four identified relational modalities in a parallel manner to the relational diagnostic categories of individuals.

Moral Education:
The scientific paradigm presents issues of power management as the abstractions of a formula with ideal resolutions. The implication for our times is that science is Gnostic or knowing of values while religions excel in their profound reverence of the deified moral order.


The challenge of our times is to evolve a clear language beyond the language of metaphors; the Formal Theory validated becomes the Moral Science yielding this abstract, scientific language that can flatten the hurdles of belief systems impeding Globalization but also the practice of psychological analysis and treatment. The Formal Theory has evolved the abstract explanation of the nature of moral order both understanding the psyche and Gods in an objective manner reconciling the many religions of the world while at the same time rethinking psychology and education.

The time has come to reconcile our diverse perceptions by interpreting our metaphors rather than setting them up as institutions blocking progress in the world. Science has evolved from being antithetical to understanding religions espousing agnosticism to becoming Gnostic, understanding of values ahead of religions. Religions represent partial truths as these evolved in the course of history. It is important to ponder on the merits of the new concepts pursuing systematically their validation through research at many places and countries.

The validation of the formal analysis of relations will provide us with the confidence of a new universal value system, a new psychology and a new technology for assessment and for the cost effective education of the public. The new perspective promotes integration of knowledge and tolerance while providing respect for the traditional cultures and their system of social balance.
