The Unit of Conflict Resolution is an entity that has a beginning, a middle, and an end, the continuity of one key action. It is the unconscious thought process.

1.The Formal Theory regards the Conflict Resolution Process as the unconscious adjustment mechanism to stress.

We view the process as an energetic entity, hence as a natural science phenomenon, as an energetic transformation comparable but different from the Simple Harmonic Motion, the oscillation of the pendulum, in that the conflict energy upon the third oscillation gets transformed into insight or growth and the oscillation is terminated.

This energetic process is a six role-state sequence, the universal harmonic: The six role states evolve along a roller coaster of formal or relational intertransformations. Passivity is transformed to activity, antagonism to cooperation, alienation to mutual respect. Then the conflict is resolved.

We can portray the process graphically as a function of time, like a sine wave, and upon any simple moment as the sine curve's cross-section; a system of concentric circles.

We recognize six role states: Stress response, anxiety, defense, and reversal leading to a compromise.

The Conflict Resolution Process is also a sequence of three formal transformations: passivity is transformed to activity, antagonism to cooperation, and alienation to mutual respect. Conflict is defined formally as a state of passivity, antagonism, and alienation. Resolution is defined formally as mastery, cooperation, and mutual respect.


2. The process is clinically manifesting as a syndrome.

The Process is a sequence of interrelated emotions and behaviors. We may classify these syndromes according to how an individual resolves conflict. These yeild four key alternative relational modalities which are qualifiable and quantifiable. View the range of Relational Modalities.

3. This phenomenon is universal in all thought process, including your own.

The Unit is an unconscious mechanism reflected in all samples of creativity; therefore tapping one's creative process reveals the personal way of resolving conflict. The Conflict Analysis Battery is a psychological assessment instrument combining a relational inventory with projective techniques, leading to identifying the personal relational modality. The assessment process is educational, diagnostic, and therapeutic.

4. The conflict resolution process is the Unit moral order.

The Unit Process is a scientific moral paradigm, as it reflects the calculus of power management, its range of formal interrelated solutions, and the optimal way of resolving conflict, directed to mastery, cooperation and mutual respect. This paradigm integrates religious moral paradigms as alternative ways of resolving conflict and as an evolutional sequence of increasingly abstract conceptualizations of the unconscious process. The Formal Theoretical discovery makes us conscious of the unconscious as the most abstract way of conceptualizing morality. Individual emotional growth is characterized by the search for wisdom, defined as the enlightened or informed way of conceptualizing this moral order, and as managing one's way of relating accordingly.
